Michelle Bazeley, 2005 Michelle graduated from the University of Cincinnati and moved to Louisville to start the Kentucky chapter of Winners On Wheels, a scouting group for kids with disabilities. She believes it is important to teach kids early (disabled or not) the values of self-reliance, self-esteem, and responsibility. The earlier you challenge kids to, “Be all you can be”, the better you prepare them for a more fulfilling proactive life.” In 2005, Michelle was very busy traveling the state to promote her platform and the Miss Wheelchair program. Michelle was the featured speaker at several programs at both Spaulding University and University of Louisville, where her audience was future teachers and therapists. She volunteered at a one day camp called Camp Crooked Creek, and at the CP K.I.D.S. Center's annual fundraiser. Michelle was an invited guest at the Governor's office and the Mayor's office (she received a key to the city!), and was interviewed by two local news station, WAVE 3 and WHAS 11. 2005 was truly an amazing year! |
