Who We Are
The
Ms. Wheelchair America Program, Inc., is “A program of Achievement, Advocacy and Opportunity.”
Established in 1998, The Ms. Wheelchair Kentucky Program is part of Ms. Wheelchair America, Inc.
The Kentucky program holds state pageants to choose accomplished women and gives them the opportunity to travel the state spreading our message of achievement and advocacy.
Ms. Wheelchair Kentucky speaks for all women within our state who have disabilities. Bringing the message to both the able-bodied and the disabled that women with disabilities have the same hopes and dreams as those women without disabilities. They just accomplish their goals with wheels for mobility! Our State Titleholder also represents the Great State of Kentucky at the Annual Ms. Wheelchair America Pageant.
Our Mission
The mission of the Ms. Wheelchair America Program Inc. is to provide an opportunity for women of achievement who utilize wheelchairs to successfully educate and advocate for individuals with disabilities.
Unlike the Miss America Pageant, the Ms. Wheelchair America program is in no way a beauty contest. It is instead a competition to select the most accomplished and articulate spokesperson for the millions of disabled Americans.
The selected titleholder must be able to communicate both the needs and accomplishments of her constituency to the general public, the business world and the legislature when the opportunity arises.
